USA Rugby South RAN selection

Please join me in congratulating Evan Thomas for being selected to play for the USA Rugby South U-19 All-Star team in the Rugby Americas North tournament commencing this weekend in Florida. Evan traveled to Nashville to attend one of the regional tryouts for this team and was one of only four North Carolina players selected to the team! The tournament is a week-long international competition with the winner advancing to and representing the Rugby Americas North region in the 2018 world tournament.

Evan will have the opportunity to play against Mexico on Saturday and then, depending on the results of that game, any of the following country participants in further rounds of this tournament: Trinidad and Tobago, Bermuda, Cayman, Jamaica, South America and Turks & Caicos.

We wish Evan well in the tournament and are proud of him and our other players who are being selected with increasing frequency for state, regional and Country all-star teams. Their selection is a testament to their hard work and to the quality of the Redhawks program!

Well done Evan and bring home the gold!
