Twenty-four teams will compete in the 2019 Boys HS Rugby National Championships. The competition will be held at the RAC in Salt Lake City, Utah, and will consist of three games for each team over three days, May 16-18. Beat Marin but perhaps a bit closer than expected. 2-1 in NorCal Premier. Raleigh Redhawks (NC). Beat Union County Lions. Royal Irish (IN). Won two at the preseason tourney at U. Kentucky. Beat Notre Dame de la Salette in impressive fashion this past weekend. San Diego Mustangs (CA). Beat South Bay; now 3-0 in SoCal United (UT). Idle Single-School Teams East HS (UT). We are raising money to support players from the Raleigh RedHawks who will be competing in the HS Rugby National Championship in Salt Lake City, Utah May 16-19th, 2109. Your donation will help make an impact. Funds donated will go directly to support players that financial cannot afford the costs associated with the travel. The Raleigh Redhawks (NRYRA) is a non-profit rugby association, servicing the Raleigh and Raleigh Community! We offer instructional rugby to boys and girls from preschool age through high school. The coaches, managers, and board of directors consist of dedicated parent volunteers whose goal is to develop rugby players and ensure that the kids have FUN in the sport of rugby. The objective of the NRYRA is to design and maintain programs to increase participation, improve skills, sportsmanship, teamwork, and enjoyment for our athletes. Our programs provide support that meets the needs of the beginning player where basic skills are taught as well as programs which offer opportunities of those who wish to advance in a more competitive environment. Congratulations to "Not" Broughton in winning the 2019 State Single School Championships in their inaugural year! The team mostly comprised of Raleigh RedHawks (21 RedHawks and 2 Chapel Hill Highlander players in the final) beat Providence High School from Charlotte 21-19. Honorable mention must be also made to representative players from Cary Claymores (1) as well as another player from Chapel Hill that also contributed to the success of the program leading up to the final. Both featured in the Semi Final success on Saturday over Corinth Holders High School at Matthews Sports Complex.
